Vista Hermosa, Colombia

Why we love this coffee?
We always love ourselves a good washed Colombian coffee and this is a great one. It makes us feel like a kid again drinking that grape juice. We are getting loads of cane sugar sweetness upfront, with bright and juicy flavours that remind us of grape juice and yellow plums and macadamia nut on the finish!

Coffee Story
For many years, Julian Andres Lasso Garzon and his wife Erika Yaguara have been producing coffee on their farm Vista Hermosa located on the outskirts of Planadas in the south of Tolima. However, only a couple of years ago, they were inspired by friends in the community and decided to change their approach and focus on producing for quality. They took the risk and made the investments necessary to increase the quality of their production and have been able to receive better prices for their coffees. This has enabled Julian and Erika to create a better quality of life for their family and create plans to continue investing in their farm by improving the drying area and even creating their own vermicompost. This offering from Vista Hermosa is a mix of Caturra and Colombia varieties with meticulous processing. After the ripe cherries are harvested, they are left to ferment in cherry for 20-26 hours in the shade. After this, the cherries are de-pulped and go through a second dry fermentation for 30-36 hours.
