How do we feel about this coffee?
It feels like a fresh cantaloupe on a sunny afternoon, pouring salted caramel syrup over vanilla ice cream and opening a tin of walkers shortbread cookies over Friday afternoon tea with your Grandma.
Coffee Story
We've worked with this Vides family for several harvest seasons, and they've constantly brought us some of our favourite coffees Guatemalan coffees from their farms La Bolsa, El Patio and Cuevitas. Their newest family farm, El Rincon, is nestled in a valley of limestone hills in the La Libertad region of Huehuetenango. There it's protected from significant climate fluctuations allowing the coffee to develop consistently during the growing period leading to an ideal flavour profile. Renardo Ovalle is the third generation of the Vides family to produce coffee in the region. Today, the family is one of the most renowned Guatemalan families in the world of specialty coffee. They invest a lot in the local people with critical social projects such as a Kindergarten and school for workers' children, balanced meals for all of the workers and higher wages than other farms in the country.
