Mora Negra, Guatemala | 300g
Tasting Profile & Structure
Vanilla | Green Tea | Blackberry | Complex: expressive, wild
How do we feel about this coffee?
It feels like silky sweet vanilla, a fresh slice of blackberry pie at a candlelit table, a soft green tea in the study with a good book and putting on a warm cashmere sweater to head out to a holiday dinner party.
Coffee Story
Cristian Safie, a lovely and integral partner we’ve worked with for importing our Guatemalan coffees from the La Libertad region through the years, bought his farm called Mora Negra in the Chimaltenango region, about 60 kilometres west of Guatemala city a few years ago and planted a small plot of Gesha. The farm sits at about 1900 MASL, and this is his first ever harvest on his farm, which has been carefully processed by hand and washed all on-site. Because this was such a small-scale harvest, we’ve bought the entire lot!!
